Hard to believe that its 4 years since Lifesupporters first went online. Originally we started off a few folks gathering from various communities where members didn't really care about one other. Our approach from the start was to create a warm and supportive environment for everyone to face issues important to them free from judgment and persecution. The anonymity provided by the www gave us the perfect vehicle to be truly honest with ourselves and each other. You'll never know how easy it is to embark on the road to recovery until you've had the chance to be truly honest about what's ailing you. I can tell you from experience that I was deep in the throes of depression and I'm certain that Lifesupporters.com and the warm folks here helped me deal with it. Along the way many of us grew from mere acquaintances to friends to family. Watching this entire process evolve from day 1 is something I simply cannot put into words without tarnishing how truly fantastic it is; to feel sincerely cared for by many. Year 4 will bring about more changes as we launch new programs such as "Issue of the Month" where we define, discuss and catalogue one important social issue/month in our forums and Wiki. We'll also be giving our forums a makeover in an attempt to add more diversity while creating targeted discussion within clearly defined Topics, Categories and sub-Categories. There really has been no better time to join in and speak your mind so what's stopping you? I want to thank all our valued members and guests who take time from their busy schedules to browse our site and make our forums warm, caring and truly unique! A few weeks back I was sitting in a Chinese Restaurant waiting for my take out order to be completed. As I waited, I sat gazing out the window at a building across the street. Most of the signage at the store front was obscured by trees with the exception of part of what I guessed was the phone #. The number on the sign was 666 and it's not the first time I've seen this number, in fact, I see it a lot. Before embarking on this article I want to clearly state that what follows is honest confusion from a 40 year old male who is neutral on Heaven or Hell. While I can say I don't fully believe in either ideal I'd be nuts to discount them fully. I've actually considered going to Church but like many adults I don't like investing my time or energy into time consuming or pointless pursuits. The past few years has seen me trying to determine whether or not bringing Religion into my life is beneficial; maybe you can help. |

Faith is a term usually reserved for Religious purposes as a belief in something for which there is no tangible proof. Of course this definition does not encapsulate the term as faith can range from faith in a God to faith in oneself to faith in a partner, friend or even an employer. Since faith is really more of a belief rather than proof, look for articles to be of an opinion based nature.
